Catrina's senior photos... I am really having a fun time with these shoots! Catrina wants to be an artist - I think she could be a model! What strikes me most about these senior shoots is that I have a chance to get to know someone who is on the brink of the beginning of a life adventure! Choosing a college, moving away from home, meeting new friends, test the waters for different careers...fun and challenging stuff that will shape their future for years to come. We all have life experience that could be valuable to kids about to make a lot of choices and decisions...I encourage all of us to be a positive influence to anyone we know in this situation! Have a super day! ~allyson

Children are my favorite subject...
For many reason, the foremost being that they show you who they are, for reals, without any reservation, even when you've never met them before, they typically do not really care about first impressions. Benjamin did not feel like having his photo taken on this pretty day...but we went ahead anyhow. His mom and I were laughing at his lounging on the chair (below)...she said "well, you'll definitely capture the essence of my life with that one!" When Kellie (the mom) saw her photos, her response was one that made my day..."Allyson, Oh my gosh... I just looked at all of our pictures and I love them!!! You did such a nice job...even though my toddler was being so difficult that day! I want them all! I can't tell you enough how much we love the pictures!"

Kyla & Chad are getting married in mid Sept at her parent's ranch. This is one wedding I've been anticipating all year, from the first time we met, Kyla told me about her turquoise boots - I can hardly wait to see them! I love ranch weddings. There is just something about the rustic scene that is appealing to me. Perhaps it's because my grandparents have a ranch and I always love to visit. The fresh air, hay smell and dirt!!

Well I hope to be writing more, we have a lot of new images to share, it's the time that seems to be the issue!

Danielle, her mom and I had an adventurous time hiking to the spot she had selected for her senior portraits. We found these beautiful orange flowers on the way...I am so excited for her to see her photos!

I've been shooting a lot of senior photographs and having fun doing it. Usually I get to go on a mini adventure, looking for just the right spot, and discovering new ones along the way!
