Gary's mom contacted our studio to shoot his senior photos, Gary loves to surf - first thing she mentioned. God could not have blessed us with a more beautiful day than the day we took these photos - there were absolutely amazing clouds in the sky! It's unusual to have both parents come to a senior shoot, his parents were so loving and fun, we had a great time and got some super shots in the meantime!

The Stork FamilyOccasionally you meet people who live up to their names. This would be one of those, except it's the whole family!
THE Stork has blessed this family with many beautiful grandchildren, and more on the way. We took these photos in Grandma and Grandpa's backyard. Grandpa originally built the playhouse for his 5 children, and he built it in such a way that it could be moved. So now it's been relocated to their current backyard, where the grandchildren continue to give it a long life filled with giggles & smiles. Sometimes Grandpa even hangs out inside!

You know when you've attended a wedding that Martha Stewart was invited to it must be something good!
This wedding was nothing out of the ordinary, from the bride's turqouise boots, to the horse shoe wedding favors, to the "wedding grove" made by the family, this celebration was up my Ally! The love and joy you could feel radiating from their family was truly awesome. Pure Country, with a Santa Barbara flair ~ it was a good thing, as Martha would say!
Congratulations Kyla & Chad!

Family ties...I have the pleasure of photographing many families each year, from families gathered to view one of the most significant days of life ... weddings to families who gather for reunions, to families like the Dusi Family, who work together on a daily basis, generation after generation.
As I was chatting with Mama Dusi, she mentioned how interesting it must be to see glimpses of different families and their interactions through my job. I agree, it is interesting, but in the end, most families are very similar, after all, nobody is perfect, which means, no family is perfect. There will always be at least one person to stir things up and cause a bit of drama, then there's those who sit back and observe....most families are the same or similar, the good news is that God made us each special, I think he did that just so that we can cope with eachother!
The Dusi family has been growing grapes for several generations, in this post you'll see Great Grandfather Dante - (chief) - through the great Grandchildren - including little chief - Little Dante. As I was asking Grandpa Dante about the vineyards, they were planted when he was a child. If you're familiar with vineyards, you'll notice these look different. They are called "old vine" and if I'm correct, they produce a smaller volume but with more character - bolder juices etc. I'm no expert and I might be wrong on this, but its definetely a type you don't see very often! Which makes this vineyard special, just like the family who planted it.
Thank you to all my clients who allow me the special opportunity of glimpsing into their family and capturing the essence for future generations!
