For Dog lovers only....

So if you haven't figured it out, I'm on a dog kick with these posts. I just found it funny that I've had so many shoots lately with pups in them!

So on that note, of course, I had to post a few of my superstar Sgt "Gunny" Hwy, I guess these could be his year and half portraits!

Yes, he's really as sweet as he appears....most of the time. It's pretty hard to resist this face:

ready to play...

A classic dog portrait...

I was reading a business magazine recently and came across this article..."Business Lessons I've Learned From My Dog." These creatures have lessons to teach us, I truly believe they are given to their masters to teach the lesson that person might need to know! Here we go....
  • Always greet customers with excitement and enthusiasm, even when you just saw them three minutes ago. They never grow tired of thinking they are the most important thing in your life.
  • Don't confuse your tail with a goal worth chasing
  • Sleep as many hours a day as possible, but always be ready to play when the chance arises!
  • Don't be afraid to get dirty; in fact, relish it.
  • When the big folks are feasting, if you now to work things, you'll be able to feast too!
  • Barking a lot is annoying, so don't do it often. This way when you do bark, people will spring to attention.
  • Don't bark at the mailman. He's been know to have a treat in his bag. (my UPS man carries treats for Gunny!)
  • Biting someone never leads to anything good.
  • Continuously learning new tricks keeps you young!
  • The joy is in digging the hole, not in hiding the bone. But it's also reassuring to know there are a few bones hidden.

Ok, So back to number 3 - we're off to the snow for the weekend!!

Jayne Wayne + Theo | A.town

I first met Jayne back in 2003, we just had moved from Santa Cruz to the lovely Central Coast and I shot her wedding. Since then Jayne and I have become good friends. Recently she started her web and graphic design business and needed some head shots. She's a big animal lover and I don't just mean she loves animals, she loves BIG animals - horses! That's way her business name is Jayne Wayne Equine Design. Don't ya just love that?! Check out her site when you have a moment. And if you need website she's great to work with and is good with optimization - something anyone with a website needs!

Theo is one of Gunny's good buddies. Over-n-out.

Mission Accomplished : New Studio Photos

So, as many would be, we completed the studio the day of the grand opening. Grand it was. We had a terrific turnout, delicious food, delectable truffles and many wonderful moments. Here are a few shots my sweet husband took at our opening (I for once set the camera down...imagine that!)

my mom is in the middle of these lovely ladies, Heidi & Karen...

Fine food by none other than Trumpet Vine Catering
Our friends. clients and family enjoying......

Here are a few photo of the space finished, I have plans for a couple of changes, but for now, it's complete! All "A" style....

At some point I will shoot a video to post. The outside of our building is completely amazing! Hopefully in the near future....

Until next time - which I promise will be sooner than last time....allyson

Watch Oprah Wednesday and maybe see my photos!

Last week I got a call from my friend and life coach - Meadow - she's going to be on the Oprah Winfrey Show tomorrow! They are filming today and airing Wednesday. I'm so excited to know someone who's met the lady and to top it off, they MIGHT show my photos! Meadow was chosen to be a part of the show partly by the slide show she sent in which has my photos in it. So watch tomorrow! I think it's on at 4pm.

Shandi + Jason | Carmel

Being a California wedding photographer, I get to travel, and I truly enjoy, seeing and shooting at all different places around the state. Last weekend Sumer (my friend) and I headed up to Carmel to hang out, and take photos of Shandi + Jason. This weekend I'm heading to S California to shoot Nyssa + Danny and visit my family. Fun stuff!

Shandi + Jason are a very fun couple. They are getting married in Carmel Valley
and I'm so excited to shoot their wedding in May.
we thought this one was appropriate since they are both pediatric doctors....
Love this one with the umbrella....

Shannon + Quinn | San Miguel

One of my favorite spots in north county is San Miguel. There is Mission San Miguel - I'm pretty fond of Missions - so much history and old crumbly looking structures - and then there is the old Adobe - still not sure what it was used for after being there several times, but it's old and neat looking and fun to shoot at. Here are Shannon & Quinn, getting married in July at Shannon's family's ranch.....one of my favorite types of weddings - ranch wedding - music to my ears - so much FUN!

Trisha + V | Los Osos

Recently I've found myself shooting a lot of engagement sessions - so, here are some of my 2008 couples!

Trisha & V are getting married up north in July. I had a great time shooting their engagement session at a Los Osos park and Montana de Oro - it was cold and a bit yucky weather wise, but we managed to get some great shots anyway! Congratulations you two!
